MARA – »Du bist genug«

»Du bist genug« (You Are Enough) speaks to everyone who keeps measuring themselves against others. MARA raps against comparison – against likes, numbers and other people's applause as a yardstick for your own worth – and answers it in the sung chorus with a single line: »Du bist genug. Nicht später, sondern jetzt.« (You are enough. Not later – now.)

The song redefines strength: »Stärke heißt nicht, dass du niemals fällst. Stärke heißt, dass du dich wieder zu dir selbst stellst.« (Strength isn't never falling. Strength is standing up for yourself again.) Between two rap verses and the sustained hook sits a quiet bridge that clears away every objection one by one – not too much, not too heavy, no permission needed. It closes on a spoken line: »Mach dich nicht kleiner.« (Don't make yourself smaller.)

This is about self-worth – the unconditional kind. Not »good enough«, but enough. »Good enough« is a standard: you meet it or you miss it, and meeting it counts as an achievement. »Enough« is not an achievement, it is a state. That is why the chorus does not say »you can do it« but »you don't have to prove anything, you don't have to satisfy anyone else«. Worth comes before performance, not after it.

MARA delivers this without pathos. The verses are rapped, plain, almost matter-of-fact – listing what self-doubt says all day long: too quiet, ignoring yourself, saying yes while everything inside said no. Only the chorus opens up and is sung. That drop between doubt and reassurance is the shape of the song – and the reason its last line can be a spoken sentence rather than a big note.
